Discover My Artistic Journey

I’m Raune-lea Marshall, an acrylic painter inspired by the quiet beauty of cottage country. After retiring in 2017, I finally had the time to return to what had always been calling me—art.

Creativity is in my DNA. My father, Neil Blackwell, was a wildlife artist and my mother a designer and dressmaker, so I grew up surrounded by color, texture, and imagination. My love for nature began early, during long days spent exploring the woods and lakes around our family cottage. Those experiences continue to shape my work today.

I paint to capture the feeling of stillness, wonder, and connection that comes from being in nature—whether it’s the glint of sunlight on water, a quiet shoreline, or the atmosphere of a northern sky. Every canvas is a reflection of my deep appreciation for the land and its quiet stories.

I hope my paintings bring a bit of that peace and natural beauty into your world.

Interested in a painting?

I always encourage seeing a piece in person—the colours, textures, and details truly come alive beyond the screen. If you’re local, I’d be happy to bring a selection of works to your home so you can experience them in your own space and choose the one that speaks to you.

Raune-lea's inspiration for this collection

In this series, Raune-lea Marshall celebrates the beauty and spirit of Canada through its most iconic animals. Each portrait highlights the character and strength of these beloved creatures, capturing both their individuality and their symbolic place in our national identity. Inspired by her lifelong love of animals and deep patriotism for Canada, these works are a tribute to the wild heart of our country and the pride we share in calling it home.

Quotes

"Of all the food photos that Alanna (Shipley) has taken my favourite has always been her blueberry pancakes. To see you take her photo and recreate it into a beautiful painting is such a special honour. You have both become beautiful artist in your own medium. I know how excited Alanna is to be acknowledged and to receive your gift of the original artwork you created."

Savour the passion of water on your favourite watercraft

The joy of watercraft lies in the freedom and adventure they bring-gliding across open water, feeling the spray of the waves, and hearing the hum of the engine or the quiet rhythm of a paddle. Whether it's the thrill of speed, the serenity of hidden shores, time spent on the water offers both excitement and peace.
